Local vs Domestic Relocation: What's the Difference?

Relocation is broadly divided into local shifting and domestic moving. While they might sound similar, their logistics requirements, packaging levels, and cost structures are entirely different.

1. Local Shifting

Local shifting involves moving within city borders, usually within a 50 km radius. Shifting items locally is faster and completed in a few hours. The cost is calculated based on labor rates and the size of the truck, with basic box packaging often being sufficient.

2. Domestic Relocation

Domestic relocation involves moving across city lines or states, crossing hundreds of kilometers. Transit times take several days. Multi-layer packaging, including bubble wrap and heavy corrugated sheets, is mandatory to withstand long highway journeys. Prices depend heavily on distance, tolls, octroi taxes, and container vehicle size.
